At least 35 people were killed, and 15 others sustained injuries when a fire broke out in a residential building in Kuwait City of Mangaf on Wednesday morning, BBC reported.

A video shared on social media showed flames engulfing the lower part of the building and a plume of thick and black smoke billowing from the lower part of the building

The fire which broke out at 6 pm (local time), has now been taken under control, according to the interior ministry.

A senior police officer told state TV that there were a “large number” of people in the building when the fire broke out.
