The Pakistani Embassy in Kathmandu on Thursday organized the second alumni gathering for Nepali Army officers trained in various institutions of Pakistan Armed Forces.
Speaking at the alumni get-together, Pakistani Ambassador Abrar H. Hashmi said that Pakistan and Nepal have strong relations based on trust and mutually beneficial collaborations between the people, governments, and armed forces.
Hashmi expressed gratitude to former CoAS Gaurav Rana and senior officers for attending the second inaugural alumni event.
Similarly, former CoAS of Nepali Army General (R) Gaurav SJB Rana, who was invited as the chief guest of the program, recalled experiences of his stint in Pakistan and their relevance to his own rise in leading Nepali Army. "The training of Nepali Army officers, soldiers and capacity building of Nepal Army has tremendous value for the institution and individuals," said Rana.
Welcoming the guests at the program, Col. Muhammad Ali Alvi, Defense Attaché at the Embassy of Pakistan, highlighted the vibrant bilateral relations between the Armed Forces of Nepal and Pakistan, especially in the training sector.
Participants of the alumni gathering expressed their gratitude to Pakistan and its mission in organizing the event and providing them a platform to relive fond memories of their stay in Pakistan.
Air Chief Marshal (R) Sudarshana Pathirana, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Nepal, Major General Babu Ram Shrestha, senior most serving Nepal Army officer and alumni of NDU Islamabad, among other serving and retired Nepali Army officers attended the event.
