Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma challenged CPN (UML) Chairman KP Oli to produce evidence to substantiate the allegation that the Nepali Congress (NC) received commission during the Giribandhu Tea Estate land sale.

General Secretary Sharma said so while addressing a seminar organized to promote gender equality by the Nepal Women Association, a sister wing of Nepali Congress, in Kathmandu on Thursday.

In the year 2052 BS, UML formed the government, in 2060 BS there was the government led by Surya Bahadur Thapa, but NC did not take charge of the Ministry of Land Reforms then and in 2078 BS KP Sharma Oli himself took the helm of the government, said Sharma, denying NC’s involvement in misappropriation of the Giribandhu Tea Estate land sale.

“If a single piece of land belonging to Giribandhu Tea Estate is found to have been sold by Nepali Congress by receiving commission, form a probe committee to look into the case,” challenged Sharma.
