Three major coalition parties -- CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Center) and Rastriya Swatantra Party -- have struck a deal on the sharing of 11 ambassadorial posts.

A meeting held between Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, UML Chairman KP Oli and RSP President Rabi Lamichhane in Singha Durbar on Thursday evening reached the consensus on the sharing of ambassadorial posts.

According to the agreement, UML will have eight posts, RSP two and Maoist Center will get one post, sources have said.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on June 6 had decided to recall Nepali ambassadors from 11 countries including the United Kingdom, India and America.

The government is making preparations to appoint ambassadors to the same posts lying vacant.

Out of 11 posts, the coalition parties will finalize ambassadors for some posts today itself, according to Baluwatar sources.

A cabinet meeting is taking place in the afternoon today.
