After becoming the fourth largest party in the parliament in almost six months of the establishment of the party, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) undertook the 'Review Tour' following the defeat in the by-elections held in Ilam Constituency 2 on April 27.
Party General Secretary Dr Mukul Dhakal has been preparing a report based on the comments and suggestions he received from 38 districts, Deputy General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti told Nepalkhabar.
On May 19, General Secretary Dhakal left for a month-long nationwide tour as per the advice and direction of the party.
During the tour, Dhakal visited 38 districts, had an interaction with over 2,079 people, and arrived in Kathmandu last Wednesday.
"He (Mukul Dhakal) has almost completed a report. It is yet to be given a final touch," said Burlakoti, "We will make public the review of the tour within a few days."
General Secretary Dhakal who started his review tour with the party's election symbol 'bell' had visited various districts from Kathmandu to Dolpa.
Dhakal, who returned after the review trip, said that 'bold decisions should be taken even by taking risks' through the greeting messages on the party's establishment day.
"What is the relevance of the RSP? This question has been raised. We are at a critical juncture," said Dhakal, "Time has come to make bold decisions even by taking risks to maintain the people's faith in our party."
Echoing Dhakal's words, party President Rabi Lamichhane said that the party is undergoing a difficult phase while delivering his greeting messages on the party's second establishment day.
The reactions of the two party leaders have made it clear the party is facing hardships and the party leadership itself is not happy with the course taken by the party. The leadership concludes that the party requires a ruthless review and revision for success.
"Bearing high expectations and responsibilities on our shoulders, we are undertaking a difficult journey. A party cannot be established without going through some difficulties," President Lamichhane said, "We will complete this journey by achieving political maturity along with ideological clarity."
RSP marked its second establishment day last Friday.
