Chinese Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Sun Weidong, who arrived on a three-day official visit to Nepal today, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda.’
In the meeting held in Singha Durbar today, issues related to bilateral interest, mutual concerns and cooperation were discussed, the Office of the Prime Minister said.
Prime Minister Prachanda expressed his gratefulness to the China government for its continued support to Nepal in areas of social and economic development.
Prachanda further said that China’s continued support for Nepal is necessary as it is graduating to the status of a developing country from the list of the least developed countries (LDCs) in 2026.
Vice Minister Sun told Prachanda that China has decided to observe ‘Visit Nepal-2025’ on the occasion of 70th Anniversary of Nepal-China diplomatic ties next year, with the aim of promoting Nepal’s tourism.
Sun further expressed commitment that China will continue its assistance for Nepal in the areas of social and economic development.
