CPN (UML) has asked the present government not to carry out any works that will have a long-term impact.

A press release issued by UML General Secretary Shanker Pokhrel today states that the attention of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been drawn not to carry out any works that would have long-term impact, as the government has been reduced to a minority status after the UML withdrew its support to the government.

The two largest parties in the parliament – UML and the Nepali Congress – had reached an understanding on July 1 to form a government of national consensus under UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli's leadership, and the UML, on July 3, withdrew its support to the present government.

UML has once again requested Prime Minister Dahal to participate in the process of forming a government of national consensus and extend cooperation to that end since the incumbent government is not in a position to garner a vote of confidence in the parliament in the present situation.
