The Election Commission (EC) has informed that as many as 2,494 candidates have registered their candidacies for the elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system.
According to Shaligram Paudel, the spokesperson of the EC, 22,061 males and 233 females have filed their candidacies for the members to the HoR on Sunday.
Similarly, under the Province Assembly (PA), 3,423 candidates registered their candidates, said Paudel.
Of them, 3,127 are males and 295 are females.
Besides, one third gender has also filed a nomination.
