NC finalizes ministers; four ministries to Shekhar-Gagan faction (with list)

Nepali Congress has finalized the names of ministers to represent the government on Sunday evening.

Out of nine ministries allocated for Nepali Congress, the establishment faction got five ministries while the Koirala-Gagan faction received four ministries, which comes to around 55% and 45%, respectively.

According to the agreement, NC will send the ministers to the government under the leadership of Prakash Man Singh who will take charge as the Deputy Prime Minister and either as Minister of Energy or Defense.

Similarly, Ramesh Lekhak will lead the Home Ministry, Arzu (Foreign Ministry), Ajaya Chaurasiya (Forests or Law), Kishore Singh Rathore will take charge of the Ministry of Urban Development. They are from the establishment side.

Similarly, Pradeep Paudel will take charge of the Health Ministry, Ramnath Adhikari (Tourism), Hridaya Ram Thani (Law or Forests) and Tejulal Chaudhary will lead the Ministry of Energy or Defense). They are from the Shekhar-Gagan group.

CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has been appointed as the Prime Minister of Nepal on Sunday. He is taking the oath of office and secrecy on Monday. Along with Oli, other ministers from UML and NC to participate in the government have also been finalized.

NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba and central member Shekhar Koirala held a meeting to strike a deal on the allotment of ministerial portfolios this evening.

Prior to this, the Shekhar-Gagan faction had held a separate meeting.
