Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Devendra Dahal, has said that Prime Minister KP Oli and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba have agreed to take turns in leading the government.
Speaking at a program organized to mark the 62nd National Engineers Day in Kathmandu on Thursday, Minister Dahal said Prime Minister Oli will take charge as the Prime Minister for two years from now and that NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba will replace him in the remaining term of the government as per the agreement.
“UML Chairman Oli will lead the government for two years in the first phase while NC President Deuba will replace him in the second phase of the remaining term of the government's five-year tenure,” said Minister Dahal, “This alliance will offer a political stability for the country. The incumbent government cannot afford to fall flat. We should make it a resounding success.”
He further said that the agreement reached between Nepali Congress and UML is transparent and claimed that two big parties have formed an alliance for the political stability in the country.
“We have to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Two big parties have formed the government. This government will not change overnight as it did in the past. It will give a political stability to the country. We have kept nothing secret. Everything is transparent,” said Dahal.
This government cannot afford to become unsuccessful, he added.
