Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has cast doubt on whether the 15th General Convention will be held as scheduled.
During the meeting with the municipal presidents convened in Kathmandu on Friday morning, Koirala expressed reservations about the timely holding of the 15th General Convention due to the working style of the party leadership and the office-bearers.
“I doubt whether the 15th General Convention will be held as scheduled due to the working style of the party leadership. If the general convention is not held on time, it will impact the upcoming elections and the party will be weaker,” Koira said, urging the municipal presidents to be aware of it.
During the meeting with Koirala, municipal presidents of the NC expressed grievances stating that the party statute has failed to ensure their rights.
President of NC Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Nilkaji Shakya, Lalitpur Metropolitan City President Suwananda Dhakhwa, Chitrasen Adhikari (Bharatpur), Deepak Chapagain (Biratnagar) and Manindra Nepali (Birgunj) were present in the meeting.
