Nepali Congress (NC) Parliamentary Party (PP) leader Bahadur Singh Lama is set to become the Chief Minister of Bagmati Province.
Lama is becoming the Chief Minister after this post came into the fold of NC following the power sharing deal reached between NC and CPN (UML).
With this, NC is going to take the helm of the Bagamati Province government for the first time seven years after the federal political set up came into implementation.
Earlier, Lama had served as the Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning in the government formed by Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Center).
He had been elected as the provincial lawmaker from Nuwakot-2 (B) in the general elections held on November 20, 2022.
Lama, who had started his political career from student’s union in 2043 BS, is the central working committee (CWC) member of NC.
