Bagmati CM Lama to take vote of confidence on July 30

Newly elected Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Bahadur Singh Lama, will take the vote of confidence on Tuesday (July 30).

Chief Minister Lama will take the vote of confidence on coming Tuesday in accordance with Article 168 (4) of the Constitution.

A meeting of the Province Assembly has been called at 3 pm on July 30 to this effect, the Province Assembly secretariat has said.

The ruling coalition partners Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) have a total of 64 lawmakers – 37 and 27 lawmakers, respectively.

In the 110-member Province Assembly of Bagmati Province, 56 lawmakers are required to secure the vote of confidence. With the majority of lawmakers in his favor, Lama is poised to secure the vote of confidence.

Seven political parties are represented in Bagmati Province Assembly.
