The government led by KP Sharma Oli has recalled the ambassadors from five countries and recommended new ambassadors for 18 countries.
A cabinet meeting held on Monday evening decided to recommend 18 individuals including CPN (UML) Standing Committee member and former Deputy Speaker Shiva Maya Tumbahangphe as ambassadors.
Tumbahangphe has been recommended as the ambassador to South Korea.
Similarly, Shankar Sharma is recommended as the ambassador for India yet again. The previous government had recalled him from India.
Similarly, former chief secretary Lok Darshan Regmi and former secretary Chandra Ghimire have been recommended as ambassadors to the US and the UK, respectively.
The Council of Ministers has recommended Krishna Prasad Oli as the ambassador for China. Oli was previously a member of the National Planning Commission when KP Oli was the Prime Minister.
Likewise, Netra Prasad Timsina has been recommended as the ambassador to Malaysia, according to the previous recommendation.
Similarly, Shail Rupakheti has been recommended as the ambassador for Germany, Dhan Prasad Pandit (Israel), Naresh Bikram Dhakal (Saudi Arabia), Kapilman Shrestha (South Africa), Prakash Mani Paudel (Portugal), Kanta Rijal (Australia) and Rita Dhital has been recommended as the ambassador for Pakistan, the Prime Minister's secretariat has said.
