Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Bahadur Singh Lama, has secured the vote of confidence.

 Lama secured the vote of confidence in the meeting of Bagmati Province Assembly as per Article 168 (4) of the constitution of Nepal, and Rule 143 (1) of Province Assembly Regulation, 2074.

CM Lama secured 64 votes including 37 from Nepali Congress and 27 from CPN (UML). A total of 35 votes were cast against his favor. In the 110-member Province Assembly 56 lawmakers are required to secure the vote of confidence.

Nepali Congress has 37 members, CPN (UML) 27, and CPN (Moist Center) 21, RPP 13, CPN (Unified Socialist) seven and Nepal Workers and Peasants' Party (NWPP) three, and Hamro Nepali Party has two lawmakers.

Nepali Congress leader Lama had been appointed CM on July 23 following the agreement between NC and UML for the coalition government.
