Ministerial portfolios assigned to eight ministers in Lumbini Province

The ministers without portfolio have got the ministries in Lumbini Province, finally. Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya had appointed eight ministers - four ministers each from Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) on July 24.

Issuing a press note on Friday, Chief Minister Acharya said that the portfolios have been assigned to the cabinet members.

According to the division, Dharmendra Karki will lead the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning, Saroj Thapa (Urban Development and Water Supplies), Badshah Kurmi (Forests and Environment), and Prachanda Bikram Neupane has been given the responsibility of Industry, Tourism and Transport.

Similarly, Bhumishwar Dhakal will take charge of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, Dinesh Panthi (Agriculture and Land Management), Khem Saru (Health Minister) and Sita Sharma Chaudhary has been entrusted with the responsibility of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, the Office of the Province Chief has said.

The Chief Minister himself looks after the Ministry of Social Development, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law and the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens.

Nepali Congress is yet to recommend a minister to a ministry allocated for it.
