Rape-accused Lamichhane remanded in custody for a week

Rape-accused cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has been remanded in custody for a week.

A single bench of Judge of Kathmandu District Court Dandapani Neupane issued a decision ordering the police to keep Lamichhane in custody for a week starting the day of his arrest for further investigation.

Police produced Lamichhane at the District Court, Kathmandu at 11 am today, five days after he was arrested.  Police have been asked to produce him at the court on the seventh day after his arrest.

Personal lawyer of Lamichhane had also reached the court who urged the judge to conclude the case at the earliest.
