A meeting of the Committee on Thursday endorsed the report of the Third Amendment to the Bill designed to amend the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation Act-2071 BS.

The Ministry of Law tabled the proposal as per the consensus forged in the three-party taskforce formed to facilitate the bill by troubleshooting the unresolved political issues.

After the discussions in the committee, Chair Bimala Subedi announced that the bill was approved unanimously along with the committee report.

She said that the HoR Speaker will be urged to create an enabling environment to submit the report of the Bill in the upcoming HoR meeting.
