An aircraft of Shree Airlines was brought back to the parking area from the runway while it was about to take off.
Surkhet-bound aircraft, which was scheduled to take off at 7:30 am, was brought back to the parking lot, according to Rastriya Swatantra Party Lawmaker Binita Kathayat.
“The aircraft which was about to take off with the passengers onboard was suddenly brought back to the parking lot from the runway, cancelling the flight. When the passengers asked for the reason behind canceling the flight, a crew member attributed it to the technical glitch,” she cited the crew member as saying.
Kathayat dubbed it as a sheer recklessness on the part of the airlines to suddenly divert the flight and bring it back to the parking lot from the runway when it was about to take off.
However, Shree Airlines Manager Anil Manandhar dismissed Kathayat’s claim and said the flight was brought back to the parking lot following disputes among some passengers. Now the preparations are underway to resume the Kathmandu-Surkhet flight, he said.
“This is not due to the technical glitches, the pilot diverted the aircraft back to the parking area following disputes of some passengers,” said Manandhar, “A flight should be canceled and another flight be prepared for the destination when some passengers involve in disputes according to standards of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.”
The passengers have already boarded the same flight accordingly and is about to fly to Surkhet, said Manandhar.
