India’s Foreign Secretary Misri to call on President, PM

Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs of India, Vikram Misri, arrived on a two-day official visit to Nepal at the invitation of his Nepali counterpart Sewa Lamsal on Sunday morning.

Foreign Secretary Lamsal welcomed Misri at the Tribhuvan International Airport a while ago. Misri arrived on an official visit to Nepal as part of the customary tradition to visit neighboring countries following the appointment as the foreign secretary of India on July 29.

Misri’s schedule of visits
Misri has left for the Embassy of India, Lainchaur from TIA. He is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the President and the Prime Minister of Nepal.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he will hold a meeting with President Ramchandra Paudel at 2 pm and pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at 3 pm.

The Indian Foreign Secretary will also hold a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakash Man Singh, DPM and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel and Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak today itself.  

Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal will host a dinner reception in honor of her Indian counterpart Misri this evening.

Similarly, he will hold a meeting with Foreign Minister of Nepal with Arzu Rana Deuba at 11 am tomorrow.

Misri who came on a two-day official visit at the invitation of Secretary Lamsal will return home Monday evening.
