Following criticisms from all quarters, Chief Minister of Madhesh Province, Satish Kumar Singh, is making preparations to remove all the state ministers.
Singh came under fire after he formed a 20-member cabinet including eight state ministers.
His party also sought a clarification after he formed a jumbo Council of Ministers.
Three state ministers who were appointed from CPN (UML) submitted their resignations to the parliamentary party leader Saroj Kumar Yadav on Monday itself.
Minister of State for Health and Population, Keshav Raya said, “We submitted our resignations to parliamentary party leader yesterday. He has informed the Chief Minister about it this morning.”
Chief Minister Singh has urged the other state ministers to proactively tender their resignations to avoid dismissal.
The Office of the Province Chief said it has received the letter of termination from the Office of the Chief Minister.
“We have received an information asking us to keep the letter on hold for a while,” an official at the Office of the Province said, “All the state ministers are going to submit resignations to avoid dismissal for the fear that it would send a negative message.”
Mohammad Jaid Alam, Keshav Raya, Sharada Devi Thapa from UML, Ram Babu Yadav from Loktantri Samajbadi Party, Shambu Kumar Sah and Ranju Khanga from Janamat Party, and Rekha Thakur and Nilam Kumari from Nepali Congress had been appointed as state ministers.
