Transitional justice amendment bill aligns with int’l standards: Deuba

Former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the transitional justice amendment bill aligns with international norms and standards.

Addressing the meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Deuba said, “This TRC bill complies with the domestic laws, decisions of the Supreme Court, and international norms and standards.”

Stating that the international community is also closely watching this TRC bill, he expressed belief that the international community will also cooperate in bringing the peace process to a successful conclusion.

“The international community is closely watching Nepal at a time when we are bringing the peace process to a logical conclusion,” said Deuba, “We are hopeful that the international community and stakeholders will also welcome this bill.”
