Pakistani Embassy in collaboration with Nepal-Pakistan Friendship and Cultural Association (NPFCA) marked the 78th Independence Day by organizing a program in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Held at the Chancery of the Embassy, Pakistani Ambassador to Nepal, Abrar H Hashmi, commenced the program by unfurling the flag and reading out the messages from the President of Pakistan Mr. Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister of Pakistan, and Mr. Muhammad Shebaz Sharif. A dinner reception was cohosted by the Embassy and the NPFCA at Hilton Hotel later in the evening.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Hashmi said, “Our civilizational commonalities, same regional dynamics, cultural and linguistic similarities as well as common developmental and ecological challenges make us multifaceted partners. Pakistan's approach to its partnership with Nepal is underpinned by desire to mutually benefit.”
Similarly, Dr. Manju Ratna Sayka, President of the NPFCA highlighted that the association with support of Pakistan Embassy in its 63 years of history has been serving to promote P2P exchanges, contributing in health and social sectors, and furthering the bilateral relations.
Vice President of Nepal Dr. Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, who was invited as the Chief Guest of the event, Deputy Speaker Indira Rana Magar, Former Prime Minister Madhav Nepal, JSP-Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav, former DPM CP Mainali, former Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, diplomats, government officials, businessmen, journalists among others were present in the event.
