Foreign Secretary Lamsal recommended as Ambassador to Belgium

Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal has been recommended as the Nepali Ambassador to Belgium.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Thursday recommended Lamsal as the Ambassador to Belgium.

The ambassadorial responsibility to Belgium is considered important on the ground that the European Commission is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.

The government had recommended ambassadors to other countries, excluding Belgium.   

Lamsal had been appointed as the foreign secretary on December 15, 2023.

She is the first female foreign secretary of Nepal.
