Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, who is currently on a five-day visit to India, is holding a meeting with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, today.
Minister Rana will pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Modi this evening following a bilateral meeting with her Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar.
After holding high-level visits on Monday, she will undergo a health checkup on Tuesday, according to the Foreign Ministry.
Minister Rana will meet with Dr Vijaya Chauthaiwale, the head of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Bharatiya Janata Party, and offer him a screed thread, her secretariat has said.
Rana who went to India on Sunday at the invitation of her Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar was received by Acting Nepali Ambassador to India Surendra Thapa and the head of Northern Division at the Ministry of External Affairs of India, Anuraj Srivastava at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.
Acting Ambassador Thapa hosted a dinner reception in honor of Minister Rana at the Embassy of Nepal at Bahrakhamba on Sunday evening.
Joint Secretary Bhrigu Dhungana, the head of the South Asian Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is involved in Rana's delegation. The Indian government has arranged a suite room at Hotel Sheraton for Minister Rana to stay.
Her son Jaiveer Singh Deuba, daughter-in-law Shivana Shrestha, her mother Prativa Rana, and younger brother Bhushan Rana among other family members, who were already in India, also joined Rana, according to sources. The Indian government has provided a bulletproof vehicle for Rana's security while in New Delhi.
After wrapping up her five-day India visit that includes her treatment and high-level visits, Rana will return home on August 22, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
