Nepse crashes 79 points, records turnover of Rs 19 billion

Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) has recorded a trading volume of 42 million, 686 thousand shares today, resulting in a turnover Rs 19 billion 740 million, 593 thousands on Sunday, the first trading day of the week. 

The benchmark index declined by 79.88 points (2.68%) to settle at 2894.57 points.  While the share value of 60 companies went up that of 184 companies went down, according to the Nepse.

Even though the microfinance gained 58.40 points, indices of other groups witnessed a negative growth.   

Microfinance surges, other indices down
The shareholders of Wean Nepal Laghubitta, Upakar Laghubitta and Atmanirbhar Laghubitta witnessed a 10% growth in their share value, each one earning Rs 156.60, 288 and 311.10 per share, respectively.

While the shareholders of Laghubitta and Corporate Development Banks earned 8.14 % (Rs 100) and 7.21 % (Rs 59.60) per share, that of Mandakini Hydropower, KBL Debenture witnessed losses.

In the share market today, Api Power Company witnessed a turnover of Rs 840 million, Himalayan Reinsurance (Rs 730 million), Shine Resunga Development (Rs 510 million), Arun Valley Hydropower (Rs 370 million) and Shivam Cement made a turnover of Rs 320 million.

The shares were purchased and sold for 200,018 times throughout the day today.
