Seventeen leaders have filed their candidacies for the post of seven vice chairpersons of the CPN (Unified Socialist) in the elections being held to pick office-bearers today.
According to the statute of the Unified Socialist, there will be seven vice chairpersons including senior -1, female -1, Madhesi-1, open-4. For which 17 candidates have filed their candidacies for the post.
Ghanendra Basnet and Rajendra Pandey have filed their candidacies for the post of senior vice chairman, Jayanti Rai and Ram Kumari Jhakri for vice chairman (woman), and Dharmanath Prasad Shah and Ramchandra Jha are in the fray for the post of vice chairman (Madheshi).
Similarly, 11 candidacies have registered candidacies for the post of four vice chairpersons (open).
Those vying for the post of four vice chairpersons (open) include Lalit Bahadur Basnet Chhetri, Dr. Ganga Lal Tuladhar, Bhanu Bhakta Joshi, Urba Dutta Pant, Sadhya Bahadur Bhandari, Prakash Jwala, Dr. Bijaya Kumar Paudel, Keshav Lal Shrestha, Birodh Khatiwada, Jagannath Khatiwada, Balaram Baskota.
