Rajendra Pandey has been elected as the senior vice chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) unopposed.
Rajendra Pandey and Ghanendra Basnet were in the fray for the post of senior vice chairman. Pandey was elected to the post after Basnet withdrew his candidacy, informed Deputy General Secretary Jagannath Khatiwada, the spokesperson of the party.
“Ghanendra ji withdrew his candidacy,” Khatiwada told Nepalkhabar, “Rajendra ji has been elected as the senior vice chairman.”
However, the election committee has not made public the final list of the candidates. The committee is making preparations to make public the final-list a while later since some other candidates are withdrawing their candidacies.
Chairman, respected leader, general secretary have already been elected.
The general convention of the party held in last June had elected Madhav Nepal as the chairman, Jhala Nath Khanal as respected leader and Ghanashyam Bhusal as general secretary.
The elections are being held to pick office-bearers and politburo members today.
