PM Oli distributes cash prizes to CAVA women volleyball players

Each player receives Rs 300,000, coach Rs 200,000

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has distributed cash prizes to the players of ‘CAVA Women’s Volleyball Nations League, 2024’.

At a program organized at the Office of the Prime Minister in Baluwatar, Prime Minister Oli  gave away a cash prize of Rs 300,000 each to 14 volleyball players,  Rs 200,000 to main coach Jagadish Prasad Bhattarai, Rs 120,000 to assistant coach Bharat Yadav, team manager Nilam Singh Bajracharya and physio Lokendra Kunwar, each amidst a program held this morning.   

 In the volleyball tournament held in Kathmandu from August 1 to August 7, Nepal performed brilliantly and became the runner-up.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on August 15 had decided to provide Rs 4.76 million in cash prizes to players and coaches.

Expressing satisfaction at the success achieved by the women volleyball players, the Prime Minister urged them to set a new record in in the days ahead.

“I belief that our women players have been encouraged to further achieve successes,” said Prime Minister Oli, “This cash price will boost the morale of our players to excel at their performance in the coming days.”

The government will try its level best to create environment conducive to encourage our players either through such cash prizes or the infrastructure development, Oli said.  

Minister for Youth and Sports Teju Lal Chaudhary and sports officials, coaches and the team manager were present at the function.
