Leaders of CPN (Unified Socialist) are trying to persuade UML leader Dr. Bhim Bahadur Rawal to join their party, of late.

Unified Socialist has said it is ready to offer any post except chairman to Rawal, if he joins Unified Socialist. He has been inactive in the party after he was denied a ticket in the last general elections.

Unified Socialist leaders have been holding talks with Rawal almost every day to this effect, the sources have said.

A high-ranking office-bearer of Unified Socialist has told Nepalkhabar that the party would offer him the post  as per his demand.

“We are initiating talks with Dr. Rawal, currently,” the leader who is also the vice chairman in the party said, “We will give him any post he wants except chairman, even by creating a new post.”

However, Rawal has not responded to the Unified Socialist’s offer.

Unified Socialist intends to create a new political atmosphere across the country by bringing Rawal into the party.

“If he (Rawal) joins Unified Socialist, we will provide him a respected post,” said he, “He is not an impulsive person, we know. He has his own idiosyncrasies. He is not the type to act on a whim.”

While in UML, Rawal had been a trusted leader of Nepal.

On August 25, 2021, ten leaders including Rawal quit Madhav camp when he split UML to form a new party.

“He was the ardent supporter of Madhav Nepal. When the 10 leaders remained in the UML, Rawal also remained along with them. Otherwise, we would have been together till now,” the leader said.

Unified Socialist has already elected its office-bearers.
