Argentina staged a dramatic late comeback to defeat Egypt 3-2 in the World Cup Round of 16, securing a spot in the quarterfinals.
Egypt took an early lead in the 15th minute with a goal from Yasser Ibrahim. They doubled their advantage in the 67th minute when Mostafa Ziko scored, leaving Argentina on the brink of elimination down 2-0.
Argentina began its comeback in the 79th minute when Cristian Romero scored to make it 2-1. Lionel Messi, who had earlier missed a penalty, then scored the equalizer in the 83rd minute to tie the game at 2-2.
During seven minutes of added stoppage time, Enzo Fernández scored the winning goal in the 93rd minute to complete the turnaround and send Argentina through to the next round.
