A proposal not to form an electoral alliance in the run-up to the elections in the future floated by Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa in a Mahasamiti meeting today has been endorsed.

A Central Committee (CC) meeting held at the central party office in Sanepa on Sunday endorsed the proposal not to forge electoral alliance in the future.

"The CC meeting has decided to contest the elections unilaterally without forming any alliance in the future," said Party Spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat.

Leader Mahat said the CC meeting decided to move ahead by consolidating the party and contesting the elections unilaterally to ensure that the voters loyal to NC can vote for the election symbol tree.

"NC will not form any electoral alliance before any periodic elections in the future and ensure that the voters loyal to NC can cast their votes for the election symbol 'tree'," according to the decision taken by the CC meeting.
