Physical Infrastructure Minister Rajiv Gurung (Deepak Manange) of Gandaki Province has tendered his resignation from his post.

Minister Gurung resigned from his post over dissatisfaction after Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey decided to reappoint him as the Minister for Forest and gave the Physical Infrastructure Ministry to CPN (UML).

Minister Gurung was not satisfied with the Chief Minister’s decision and rejected the offer right away. Instead, he recommended Munindra Jung Gurung from his district for the appointment as the Forest Minister.

Minister Manange on Sunday evening said he would not take up the budget-strapped Ministry, citing its insufficient budget and low activity level.

“There is not much budget in the Forest Ministry, nor is there enough work to do,” said Manange, recommending Munindra Jung from his district for the appointment as the Forest Minister. “He will get an opportunity to learn as the minister,” said Manange.

Minister Manange, who attended the function organized to administer the oath of office to newly appointed foru ministers from UML, left the venue before the program was over.

As soon as he left the venue, he sent his resignation letter to the Chief Minister Pandey through his personal secretary Santosh Adhikari.

However, the Office of the Chief Minister has said that it has not received the resignation letter so far.

Chief Minister Pandey has said that he has created nine ministries in order to include UML in the Gandaki Province following the alliance formed between Nepali Congress and UML at the center.
