Couple buried in Jajarko landslide, daughter rescued

A couple died and their daughter was rescued alive after their house was washed away by a landslide in Barekot Municipality-6, Jajarkot district in the wee hours of Sunday.

Prem Kumari, a ward member of Barekot Rural Municipality-6, and her husband Man Bahadur Chalune, were buried in a landslide that took place in Dhuma of the Rural Municipality.

The incident took place at 2:00 am today and the 11-year-old daughter of the couple was rescued in an injured condition. She has been rushed to the local hospital in Limsa.

Meanwhile, efforts being made with the help of local police to rescue the couple have not yet been successful.
