An aircraft of Shree Airlines bound for Surkhet from Kathmandu made an emergency landing at Tribhuvan International Airport on Mondaay morning.
The plane that took off for Surkhet at 8 am this morning made an emergency landing at TIA within 8 minutes.
Anil Manandhar, spokesperson for Shree Airlines, informed that the plane had to return to the airport shortly after take-off because of a technical issue with 'the wheel steering.'
Manandhar said the passengers were sent to Surkhet on a flight of another aircraft.
"After the emergency landing, the passengers have been taken to Surkhet on another aircraft," Manandhar told Nepalkhabar. This is only a minor problem, not a big issue.”
While Shree Airlines spokesperson Anil Manandhar described the incident as an emergency landing, airport spokesperson Rinji Sherpa later clarified that the flight was actually diverted.
"The plane that flew from Kathmandu to Surkhet on Monday morning was diverted to the airport after reaching 30 nautical miles," he said.
