The police have arrested Dhaka Kumar Shrestha, a former member of parliament (MP) of Rastriya Swatantra Party.
Police on Thursday arrested Shrestha from his clinic Diya Pharmacy in Pokhara on the alleged charge of selling 'illegal' drugs.
According to the District Police Office, Kaski, Shrestha was arrested while investigating Prakash Thapa Magar, who was arrested with drugs on July 18.
Shrestha, a proportional MP from RSP, faced backlash after his conversation with medical professional Durga Prasai revealed that his party’s core team had demanded Rs 30 million in exchange for appointing him as the health minister.
He was subsequently removed by the party.
