Rabi Lamichhane, the President of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has said that the RSP's rise has been a headache for the old parties.
Addressing the national conclave of the Central Council, which started in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Lamichhane said, "Our rise has been a headache to many old parties, said he, "Their headache will not wear off until we will secure majority in the 2084 general elections."
He said that the intervention of RSP was to change the condition of citizens. "Our intervention is to change the condition of citizens, not to point fingers at anybody," If anyone interprets our opposition to distortions and inconsistencies as a personal attack, we have no further explanation to offer."
RSP managed to become the national party in the 2079 general elections barely five months after its establishment, said Lamichhane, vowing to secure a majority in the 2084 general elections.
He further said that some people were not satisfied with the conclusion of the parliamentary committee. "Because the committee's report did not suit their expectation. I had no role in bringing the money from the cooperatives to Gorkha Media Networks. The committee also did not find my role in it. What makes it so hard to accept it?" he questioned.
Some people think that if Rabi Lamichhane is proven wrong, RSP will finish. "Even in the absence of Rabi, RSP will move ahead with a development campaign. The election symbol bell has been permanently imprinted on the ballot paper. No one can blot it. No attempts can do any harm to RSP except during elections."
