16 ambassadors recommended for various countries endorsed

The Parliamentary Committee (PHC) endorsed the names of 16 ambassadors recommended for various countries on Thursday.

A meeting of the PHC today endorsed the names of 16 out of 17 ambassadors recommended by the government, informed Bhagawati Neupane, a member of the PHC.

According to Neupane, the nomination of Ambassador Ram Krishna for Sri Lanka has not been endorsed.

"The nomination of Ambassador Ram Krishna has not been recommended since he did not submit his educational credentials," Neupane told Nepalkhabar, "We have asked him to submit credentials until the next meeting."

In the PHC meeting on Thursday, two lawmakers –Rastriya Swatantra Party Dol Prasad Aryal and Janata Samajbadi Pary lawmaker Prakash Adhikari -- had presented a note of dissent on the committee's decision to endorse the ambassadors.
