Acting President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Ramesh Bista, has tendered his resignation on Friday.

Bista submitted his resignation to the Central Working Committee (CC) of the Federation a while ago.

Bista resigned from his position, taking full responsibility for the failure to hold the elections scheduled for September 28.

Earlier on September 9, FNJ President Bipul Pokharel had tendered his resignation admitting that he could not conduct the elections on the stipulated timeframe.

Bista who was designated as the FNJ President following Pokharel's resignation, also submitted his resignation today after Bipul.

"It's unfortunate to see a growing trend of awarding memberships to individuals who are not even considered journalists. It is a grave mistake on the part of the FNJ to admit such individuals as members," reads the resignation letter submitted by Bista.
