PM Oli and his Indian counterpart Modi meet in New York

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi have held a meeting in New York.

During the meeting that lasted for 30 minutes, Prime Ministers Oli and Modi discussed various matters of bilateral relations.

Mentioning on X, following the meeting with Modi, Prime Minister Oli said he had a fruitful meeting with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the ongoing 79th UN General Assembly.

Foreign Ministers and other officials of both the countries were present during the Oli-Modi meeting. 

Foreign Minister of Nepal Dr Arzu Rana Deuba, Prime Minister's Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal, Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations Ambassador Lok Bahadur Thapa, and Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri from the Indian side were present during the meeting.

Prime Minister Oli, leading a Nepali delegation, had left for New York to attend the 79th UN General Assembly on September 20.

Oli had started the high-level meetings on Saturday. He had held a meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Saturday evening.

He will return to Nepal on September 30.
