Lightning strikes kill two individuals in Kanchanpur

Two people have died and another sustained injuries due to lightning strikes in Kanchanpur on Wednesday.

According to the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, two people died due to lightning, one each in Dodhara Chandani Municipality and Laljhadi Rural Municipality of the district.

According to DPO Kanchanpur DSP Umesh Joshi, 34-year-old Yam Bahadur Sunar of Dodhara Chandani Municipality-6 died due to lightning.

He was struck by lightning while he was taking a shelter under a tree. Another local, 36-year-old Jagate Sunar, was injured in the same incident.

He is undergoing treatment at Dodhara Chandani Primary Health Center and his condition is normal, the police said.

Similarly, 28-year-old Hiramati Rana of Laljhadi Rural Municipality-1 also died due to lightning, according to the police.
