PM Oli and MCC CEO Albright discuss MCC projects

Alice Albright, the CEO of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

During the meeting with Prime Minister Oli, who is in New York attending the 79th UN General Assembly, various matters of bilateral interests between Nepal and the US, and MCC projects in Nepal were discussed.

"We look forward to early completion of the project for high-quality connectivity through transmission lines and highways," the PM has posted on his personal X (formerly Twitter) account following the meeting.

Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister, and Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal, among others were also present during the meeting.

Similarly, Prime Minister Oli also held a meeting with the Chief Advisor of the Government of Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, on the sideline of the 79th UN General Assembly. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed Nepal-Bangladesh relations, focusing on energy and transit cooperation, tourism, cultural exchanges, educational ties, and cooperation in regional and multilateral forums, Oli mentioned on X.

Likewise, Oli delivered a keynote address at Mount Sinai Hospital, highlighting the critical role of institutions like Mount Sinai in achieving global health outcomes.

Delivering his views, Oli mentioned on X, "We welcome more resources and collaboration to strengthen healthcare in Nepal for a healthier future."

Similarly, Oli addressed the High-Level Plenary Meeting on “Addressing the Threats Posed by Sea Level Rise."

Representing the nation of Mt. Everest and the mighty Himalayas, Oli called for urgent and integrated climate action from 'Mountain to Sea.'

Earlier on Tuesday, Oli also held a meeting with USAID Administrator Samantha Power and attended the reception hosted by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres at the UN headquarters.

Similarly, Prime Minister Oli also held a meeting with Finland's President, Alexander Stubb, and called on Samoa's Prime Minister Faime Naomi Matafa.

Oli, who left for New York to attend the 79th United Nations General Assembly, will return to Nepal on September 30.
