9 missing, 3 rescued as landslides wash away houses in Banepa, Panauti and Namobuddha, Kavre

Nine people have gone missing and three others were rescued in the landslides that occurred in various places of Kavre district, said the District Police Office, Kavre.

Five people went missing and three others were rescued after a house of Gopal Timalsina of Panauti Municipality-12, Kolati was washed away by a landslide at the wee hours of Saturday, according to the police.

A rescue team of police has been deployed to the incident site from police post Roshibhumi Danda.

Similarly, four people have gone out of contact after a house was washed away by a landslide triggered by incessant rains at Panauti Municipality-11, Thumki.

A rescue team of police under the command of Assistant Sub Inspector Bimal Shrestha has fanned out to the incident site. They are searching the missing people.

Likewise, two people have gone missing in Namobuddha Municipality-2, Shyampati on Saturday morning.

Similarly, two people have gone missing after their house was buried by a landslide in Banepa Municipality-14. A rescue team of police from Sanga Police Post has been deployed to the incident site.
