Nepal Rastra Bank has contracted MS China Banknote Printing and Minting Corporation to print Nepali banknotes.
The company will print notes worth Rs 3.4 billion with a 10-rupee note in denomination, according to the agreement.
Earlier, the central bank of Nepal had put up an auction, calling for the companies to print the banknotes.
The Chinese company has been chosen based on competition, the NRB has said.
The company has signed a US $7.1 million contract with NRB to print Nepali banknotes, the sources have said.
