Switzerland into Round of 16, beat Algeria 2-0

Switzerland advanced into the last 16 of the ongoing FIFA World Cup by clinching a 2-0 win over Algeria.

Switzerland, which took a 1-goal lead in the first half, scored another 1 goal in the second half in the knockout stage match played at BC Place Vancouver Stadium in Canada this morning.

Dan Ndoye scored in the first minute of the second half to ensure the victory for his team.

Prior to that, Breel Embolo scored the first goal in the tenth minute of the first half to give Switzerland the lead. Embolo scored the goal capitalizing on the pass from Johan Manzambi.

Spain and Portugal have also entered the Round of 16 after winning the matches played last night and this morning.
