India handed over the second consignment of relief materials for the families affected by recent floods and landslides in Nepal on Wednesday.
In continuation of India government's support to the disaster-hit people, Second Secretary Shri Narayan Singh handed over the second consignment of relief materials to Assistant Chief District Officer of Banke Mr Datta Raj Hamal on behalf of the Government of India.
"The consignment of 21.5 tonnes of humanitarian assistance comprising essential hygiene supplies, medicines, mosquito nets, life jackets, sleeping mats, food items, gum boot, inflatable rubber boat and motor was transported to Nepalgunj from India, today," reads the press note issued by the Embassy of India in Kathmandu.
Further consignments of relief materials will arrive in coming days, according to the press note.
Earlier, the Indian Embassy handed over the first consignment of relief materials worth Rs 11.85 million to Chief District Officer, Banke, Khagendra Prasad Rijal for flood survivors on Tuesday.
The India government has remained in touch with the Nepal government is extending all supports and assistance to the flood victims in the aftermath of devastation caused by the recent floods and landslides in Nepal.
