Senior lyricist Bishwa Ballav passes away

Senior lyricist Bishwa Ballav has passed away. He was 80.

Ballav passed away in the course of treatment for brain hemorrhage at Maitighar-based Annapurna Neuro Hospital on Wednesday, informed lyricist Rajendra Thapa via social networking sites.

Bishwa, a long-time employee at Radio Nepal, is the younger brother (sibling) of poet and lyricist Ishwar Ballav.

His wife had passed away only two days ago.

'Shubhakamana' sung by Aruna Lama, 'Bhagyale Khusi Khosera Lagyo' by Aruna Lama, 'Dherai Din Bhayo Timro Jhajhalko' by Amar Tandukar, are some of his popular songs written by Ballav.

He was cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat according to Hindu tradition on Wednesday itself.
