The ruling party CPN (UML) has decided to build a new central party office building at Kirtipur Municipality-2.
A meeting of the party secretariat held at the central party office in Chyasal, Lalitpuir on Thursday took a decision to this effect.
Unveiling the decision of the meeting, Deputy General Secretary of the party, Pradeep Gyawali, said that a foundation stone will be laid for the new building named Madan Bhandari Memorial at the land plot located in Kirtipur Municipality-2 at 12:25 pm on Friday.
"The new building of the CPN (UML) central party office will be constructed in the land plot located at Kirtipur Municipality-2 named Madan Bhandari Memorial Building on Friday. A foundation stone for the building will be laid by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at 12:25 pm tomorrow."
Since the destruction of its central party office in Bhalkhu during the 2015 earthquake, the UML has been renting various buildings across the city to serve as its temporary headquarters for the past nine years.

Similarly, the meeting has called upon the party rank and file and people's representatives to participate in post-disaster reconstruction, restoration, and relief work.
The current office building based at Chyasal was also threatened by the floods two to three times, added Gyawali.
