A delegation led by Communist Party of China (CPC) central committee member and the CPC Secretary of Qinghai Province, Chen Gang, has paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
In the meeting held at Baluwatar this morning, bilateral ties and mutual cooperation between Nepal and China were discussed, the Prime Minister's secretariat has said.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Oli said that Nepal wants to benefit from the development of China, appreciating the considerable development of the northern neighbor under the leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping that put an end to the poverty.
Oli further said that the Nepal government is hopeful of getting the same cooperation from China in the economic development of Nepal in the days ahead, too.
Highlighting the government-to-government and people-to-people ties, bilateral trades and cultural ties subsisting between the two countries for ages, Oli stressed high-level visits to further bolster bilateral ties.
The Nepal government is always committed to one China policy and will not allow its territory for any anti-China activities, said Oli.
In response, Chinese leader Chen Gang said he came to visit Nepal at the behest of Chinese President Xi Jinping and added that China is ever ready to assist Nepal for its economic development and prosperity.
Chen further said that China respects the decisions taken by the political parties of Nepal and the issues discussed during such meetings will be reported to President Xi.
Prime Minister's Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, UML Secretary and Foreign Affairs Department Chief Raghubir Mahaseth, member duo Dr. Anjan Shakya and Gopal Khanal, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Krishna Prasad Dhakal and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song were present during the meeting.
