Nepal is taking on five-time winner India in the SAFF Women's Championship today.
The match will begin at Dasarath Stadium in Tripureshwar, Kathmandu at 6:30 pm.
These two teams, who had locked their horns for the title in the four previous editions, are going to face each other in the semifinals for the second time today.
Nepal has defeated India one time in the history of the SAFF Women's Championship.
In the previous edition of the championship held in the home ground, Nepal had defeated India 1-0. The goal scored by Rashmi Kumari Ghising in injury time had become decisive for the victory of Nepal.
Following the SAFF Championship 2022, Nepal and India have met two times in friendly matches. Both the friendly matches had ended in a tie.
That is why Nepal is taking to the ground with a high morale. Besides, Nepal will benefit from the home ground support.

Head-to-head
Nepal and India frequently faced off in the SAFF Women's Championship. Both teams know each other's strengths and weaknesses.
Since the first edition of the SAFF championship, these two teams have been competing for the title.
Nepal has played the final of each championship edition except in 2016. However, each time, Nepal had to be satisfied with the runner-up. In the first championship in 2010, Nepal lost to India 1-0. Similarly, India defeated Nepal 3-1 in 2012 and 6-0 in 2014.
In the 2019 championship held in Biratnagar, Nepal lost to India 3-0.
Likewise, in the semifinal of the SAFF Women's Championship in 2022, Nepal defeated India 1-0 for the first time. India was eliminated from the semi-finals only in the previous edition.
